The idea for Loot Table started with a problem I kept running into: there were plenty of people who wanted to play games, but not enough places where we could comfortably gather.
One of our favorite local game stores had become so popular that it regularly reached capacity. Players had to be turned away, and there wasn’t even enough room to wait inside. I started looking for other places where our group could play, but the options never quite worked. Many bars were limited to guests 21 and older, some spaces were too dark to easily see the cards, and other places had tables barely large enough for food—let alone an entire game.
I wanted to create the kind of place we had been looking for: welcoming, comfortable, and designed with gaming in mind. A place where new players and longtime gamers could find a seat, meet people, and spend time together around the table.
That idea became Loot Table Cafe.
